Intertextuality

Jonny English Strikes Again- Intertextuality.

This film poster is intertextual because it is a parody or taking the micky of James Bond movies. This is shown in the movie as he try to find out information for a secret service case but instead causes disruption along the way, like setting a restaurant on fire and many more stupid but funny things. This film poster looks like a James Bond spin off  as he has a gun in his hand with his arms crossed but he his smiling so it is clear that it isn't a spin off but something more funny for the audience members of all ages. A knowing consumer of James Bond would see that this is a micky take of the James Bond movies as he does daft and unrealist things Which the actor (Rowan Atkinson) is known for with his other characters like Mr Bean. The actor buts a James bond front on but brings a bit of Mr Bean into the character too because of how unserious the character is. The message that is given off by this poster is that it is a comedy movie but with a twist as it brings in the funny side of being a secret agent that comes out of retirement (being a geography teacher but instead teaching kids agent stuff) and goes back into the field for one last mission but does everything wrong along the way. This is an example of a comedy movie that is based off another big time film
